The 14th Annual Meeting of China Civil Engineering Society (CCES) & the 16th Annual Meeting of Tunnel and Underground Works Branch of CCES, sponsored by China Civil Engineering Society (CCES) and Tunnel and Underground Works Branch of CCES (CCES-TUWB), organized by Central South University and China Railway Tunnel Group, were held in Fenglin Hotel, Changsha from November 5 to November 6, 2010.  The theme of this annual meeting is new concept and new technology in the field of tunnels and underground works in China. More than 420 engineers in the tunnel and underground works field participated in the meeting. The 136 papers collected were published in the journal of Modern Tunneling Technology, 32 of which were reported during the meeting.

The 8th directors and members meeting of CCES-TUWB were held in the afternoon on November 5, 2010. During the meeting, the election of the members of the 8th council was proceeded. 145 delegates were elected as directors.

After the meeting, 103 delegates visited Tiyuxincheng Station of Changsha Metro, Fujiazhou shaft of Xiangjiang Tunnel, east bank of Xiangjiang Tunnel and workshop of Changsha Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Development Co., Ltd.
